Namche Youth Group’s Silver Jubilee & Mount Everest Day Celebration
This year marks a historic milestone for the Namche Youth Group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary of dedication to youth empowerment, cultural preservation, environmental conservation, and community development.
To commemorate this special occasion, we are hosting a three-day celebration full of exciting events, coinciding with the internationally recognized Mount Everest Day. We cordially invite locals, trekkers, and international visitors to join us in Namche Bazar for this unforgettable event.
Celebration Highlights:
Day 1: May 27, 2025.

Everest Sky Race – 12Km High-Altitude Challenge
- Prepare for an exciting race through the heart of the Everest region!
- Route: From Namche Bazaar Gate, take the Thame trail to Shyangboche, then to Khunde, Khumjung, Kyangjuma, and back to Namche Bazaar.
- Start time: 7:00 AM sharp.

Open Volleyball Competition.
- Teams from across the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality compete for the championship.

Shebru Dance Competition.
- Celebrate Sherpa culture with this graceful, traditional dance competition for women and youth groups from all over the region.

- Final rounds of all competitions took place on May 27th.
Day 3: May 29, 2025—Closing Ceremony & Cultural Extravaganza
- Time: from 6:00 PM onward
- Venue: Namche School Compound.
