The Sagarmatha Community Library in Namche Bazaar serves as an important learning hub for locals, students, and trekkers. Established to promote literacy, education, and cultural preservation, the library provides a collection of books, research materials, and digital resources on various subjects, including mountaineering, Sherpa culture, Buddhism, and environmental conservation.
Managed by the Namche Youth Group, the library aims to create a reading culture among young people and provide a quiet space for study and research. It also hosts educational programs, workshops, and storytelling sessions to encourage lifelong learning.
With support from community members, donors, and visiting trekkers, the library continues to grow as a center for knowledge and cultural exchange in the Everest region. Visitors are welcome to contribute by donating books, funding educational initiatives, or volunteering to support local literacy efforts.
